Oct. Theme: In an age when “fake news” and charges of hypocrisy are ubiquitous, it may be useful to think critically about hypocrisy as a strategy and mode of engagement that can enhance community building, rather than as a straightforward term of derision.

The panel discussion of the “The Specter of Hypocrisy” will consider different views and understandings of hypocrisy by addressing historical, religious, political, racial, and personal strategies of pretending, assimilating, code switching, and passing.
