The Pikes Peak Branch of the National League of American Pen Women provides support and encouragement for regional women writers, artists, and composers. The branch conducts an annual flash fiction contest, sponsors writers’ conferences, host art shows, juried poetry contests, and events to encourage and support women in the arts.

The National League of the American Pen Women was founded in 1897 to promote the development of creative women in the arts. The League promotes and conducts literary, educational, and charitable activities in three fields: letters, art, and music.

The Pikes Peak Branch was officially chartered in 1955. The League is a professional group of creative women writers, visual artists, and composers who encourage one another to discover the words, the notes, and the brushstrokes that express who they truly are. The Branch gathers to celebrate their gifts and talents while challenging themselves, others, and the community toward excellence.
