Learn about the rich aviation and space history of Colorado Springs and Peterson Air Force Base. The mission of the Peterson Air & Space Museum is to acquire, preserve and exhibit the significant history, heritage and traditions that keep alive the stories of civilian aviation history and military service men and women for all generations.

Exhibits feature the WWII Peterson Army Air Base, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, US Air Force and Army Air Defense Commands and the US Air Force Space Command. The Museum’s Airpark collection includes 16 aircraft and five missiles.

That same year, Colorado designated those buildings as a state historic district. Today, the Peterson Museum is located right in the center of that 8.3 acre historic district on Peterson Air Force Base.
