Poetry Heals

Poetry Heals provides therapeutic writing classes to teen trauma survivors and others who are incarcerated, homeless, institutionalized, in recovery, or recently released. Thanks to grant funding and individual donors, trained writing mentors can work one-on-one with writers at no cost to the client and little or no cost to the hosting organization. Poetry Heals partners with many community non-profits in the Pikes Peak Region, serving people in need throughout Colorado’s Front Range.

Poetry Heals has a crew of mentors who are trained in working with writers and in Mental Health First Aid. Poetry Heals partners each summer with Wong Wares to produce Poetry and Pottery in Manitou Springs: a weekly two-hour event for street people, residents, and tourists.
