I am a Colorado Springs native and an avid cyclist. I am a machinist by trade, but an artist by passion. I have a BFA from the University of Northern Colorado, where I studied ceramics under Dick Luster. My main "art" is pottery. I consider myself primarily a functional potter. I take influences and references from traditional Japanese Zen potters, amongst many other contemporary potters. I have been a member of the Clay People studio for 5 years. I also create mixed media drawings and paintings, when so inspired. They tend to be abstract and impressionistic. I enjoy representing my emotional and spiritual influences, experiences, dreams, and ideas. I enjoy working with composition and texture. I mostly enjoy working with oils, pastels, charcoal.
