Peakharmonic Youth Orchestra of Colorado Springs was founded in 1996 as a program specifically designed to help young musicians develop advanced performance skills. Originally named “Young Concert Artists,” members have performed side-by-side with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and honed their skills under past music directors Thomas Wilson, Michael Hanson and Dr. Carl Chevallard. This non-profit organization currently consists of four groups – Symphonic Orchestra, intermediate and preparatory string orchestras Prelude and Overture (respectively), and Wind Ensemble. All concerts are open to the public as a service to our community.
