“Your paintings have so much energy!” That is exactly the feeling Karen wants people to see in her work. The energy of life in every living thing is what motivates her. Karen cannot remember a time when she didn’t paint or draw. Before retiring from college teaching to paint full time, Karen had the good fortune to teach in Europe and South America. Consequently, her watercolors, oils, and acrylics are often inspired by scenes she enjoyed while traveling and working in such countries as Germany, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, France, and Mexico. The southwest landscape also inspires her, and her paintings often reflect her love of nature’s beauty in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. As President and Signature Member of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society and a Colorado Springs Art Guild member, Karen shows with those groups as well as at other locations in Colorado Springs. Her work is also exhibited all over the U.S., Europe, and South America in private collections and competitions where she has won several awards.
She is represented by Gallery 113, at 113 N. Tejon, in Colorado Springs, The Warehouse Restaurant and Gallery in Colorado Springs, Fratelli Ristorante and Gallaria in Colorado Springs.
