Barbara Sparks is a fine arts photographer whose gelatin silver prints are carried by the Hayden Hayes Gallery at the Broadmoor Hotel. Her book FAR FLUNG PLACES; THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF BARBARA SPARKS, is a companion piece to her recent photography exhibit at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. This book is available at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the Hayden Hayes Gallery, COPPeR, and the University of New Mexico Press. Prior books include ASPEN BLAZON OF THE HIGH COUNTRY with naturalist Ann Zwinger; COLORADO’S SANGRE DE CHRISTO MOUNTAINS with silvaculturist Tom Wolfe, and SPANISH PEAKS: LAND AND LEGENDS with western writer Conger Beasley. Her work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions and added to the permanent collections of the Harwood Museum, Millicent Rogers Museum, Palmer Museum of Art at Pennsylvania State University, Sangre de Cristo Art Center, and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. She has received prestigious awards and two grants from the Colorado Endowment for the Humanities.
