Deena Bennett creates both ceramic and photography work. She taught high school photography for 12 years, mostly focusing on darkroom practices and black and white film photography. She has worked with clay for 35 years and has her own studio.

Bennett's clay work is altered thrown porcelain and pit-fired earthenware, most of which is functional. Her non-functional work can be social commentary, whimsy or figurative.

Her photo work is a commentary on Southwest architecture both past and present. Bennett focuses on black and white film photography that has been hand colored with pencil and pastel.
