Harvest Festival

Presented by Pikes Peak Library District at PPLD: High Prairie Library

This fun event for all ages will feature a visit from American Library Association President Loida Garcia-Febo! She'll address the crowd around 10:30 a.m. and participate as a guest judge of the annual costume contest at noon.

The Harvest Festival will also feature dozens of fun events like the community-renowned cookie contest, marshmallow catapult, and pumpkin growing contest—featuring pumpkins grown with the High Prairie Library’s Seed Bank!

Pikes Peak Library District is Garcia-Febo's first stop on a national tour of five library systems, which also includes Cambridge, Los Angeles, Miami, and Seattle. The tour is part of ALA's Libraries = Strong Communities national advocacy effort aimed at highlighting the value of academic, public, and school libraries.
