Mark your calendar to take a trip to historic Manitou Springs this Labor Day Weekend and experience a day filled with high quality artwork, fabulous food, prizes, art projects for kids and talented music performers.
Commonwheel Artists Labor Day Art Festival is a juried three-day event filled with high quality artwork, talented musicians, fabulous food, and a beer garden in Manitou Springs’ Memorial Park.
For 45 years Commonwheel Artists Co-op has helped create an awareness of American-made original fine art and contemporary craft by bringing over 100 quality artists to their annual art festival.
Each year a jury of professional artists selects which artists will be showing. Only the finest handcrafted work created by the artists selling the work are accepted. About 30% of the artists are new each year.
We invite you to come and meet the creators of the art you will fall in love with.We also offer a line-up of local musicians playing original music in a variety of music styles on our stage.
Art and music patrons can sit and listen (or dance) to their favorite entertainers while enjoying a tasty treat and a cold drink, including beer and wine options.
Eco-friendly food service and delicious food makes the food court a great place to meet friends before exploring the art booths. Enjoy the variety of exotic and familiar food in a tree-shaded food court. We proudly offer some traditional fare along with diverse treats rarely found at other festivals.
This is the eleventh year that our food vendors, sponsors, and community volunteers are working to create a Waste-Wise Event. The 2018 Arts Festival diverted 75% of its waste from the landfill.
We are aiming to increase that percentage this year. Learn more about sustainable life practices at the Waste-Wise Booth.
Stimulate your child’s imagination by letting them take part in a variety of kid-friendly art-related activities around Manitou’s Memorial Park. At our Kid’s Art Activities Booth children will create hands-on art projects.
Here kids of all ages can also get their faces painted. All weekend long, “Dwayne Faux” will twist up some fun balloon creatures. Jim Jackson from the MAT will help children add color to the air with giant soap bubbles.
These activities introduce children to art in fun and exciting ways that encourage them to make art a part of their lives.
Patrons all along the Front Range describe the Commonwheel Art Festival as their favorite place to find high quality art and fine crafts.Local businesses are donating art, entertainment, and dining prizes for a free prize drawing.
