Join UCCS community, faculty and subject matter experts to discuss the benefits of urban development, creative place making and how locals can better support the growing #UrbanCOS. Here are the three session dates and topics:

Monday Sept. 23rd – Intro to Urbanism

• Join us for a lecture on the resurgence of cities by Dr. John Harner from UCCS Geography dept and an interactive activity about envisioning local urban opportunities and roadblocks.

Monday Oct. 14th – Arts & Culture in #UrbanCOS (in conjunction with Arts Month)

• Join us for a panel discussion about benefits of local creative districts & creative ecosystems, the economic value of arts & culture, and the function of public art. This session will conclude with a short public art walking tour.

Monday Nov. 4th – The Future of #UrbanCOS

• Join us for a discussion about the demographics of urbanization & migration in #UrbanCOS, including local diversity and workforce changes. At this session we will also hear from subject matter experts about the Downtown Masterplan and PlanCOS goals to better understand how these guides support local urbanism, city planning and overall COS placemaking.
