How Modern Art & Architecture Came to America takes place Mondays at UCCS Downtown.
Sept. 9 – Session #1
Chuck & Dave will present appx. an hour each on the beginnings of the Modern Movement in Art & Architecture which lead to the development of a very personal and relative “American Intellectual Signature.”
Sept. 16 – Session #2
Chuck will continue on with a discussion of key individuals such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and others in the burgeoning field of architecture and design in America.
Sept. 30 – Session #3
Dave will discuss Abstract Expressionism, a post-WWII art movement in American painting, which created a stylistically diverse body of work that introduced radical new directions in art – and shifted the art world’s focus from Paris to the U.S.
Oct. 7 – Session #4
Chuck and Dave will be back together and finalize this 4-part series in a surprising and unknown secret location! Trust them when they assure attendees that this will be an unexpected and welcome finale to this Modern Art & Architecture journey over the first (3) sessions!
