Mindful Mending

Mindful Mending

Presented by Textiles West at Textiles West

The instructor for this class is Liz Kettle.

o you have favorite clothes that have suffered from too much love? Mending is a practice of repair that helps us preserve our clothes, keeps garments out of landfills and brings us back to center with the meditative practice of stitching. It's a win/win!

Learn how to sew on buttons, repair ripped seams, and patch holes with simple or decorative mending.

This monthly workshop will teach you how to repair, refresh and renew those favorite garments.

If you are not able to afford this workshop please contact us for scholarship info.

Student supply list: bring freshly washed items in need of mending or stitch repair. Unfortunately, we cannot help with zippers at this time.

Instructor Bio: Why I Sew:

I have been intrigued with stitching since I was a child. I have never lost the feeling that something magical happens when you combine fabric and stitch. There are just so many possibilities….will this fabric want to be a bag, a journal cover, or a skirt or become part of a special story in collage? Fabric is such a malleable material. It can be draped, sculpted, textured or smooth. Stitching is so incredibly satisfying….why would anyone not sew?
