Make a Dream Board

Make a Dream Board

Presented by Pikes Peak Artist Collective at Pikes Peak Artist Collective

This class is for ages 11 and up.

Visualization is a technique used by Olympic athletes. If you think through your top goals, and create a detailed plan to overcome obstacles and achieve those goals, you can then tap into the law of attraction to increase your chance of success.

Once your board is made, you need only spend a few minutes a day looking at it. You’ll visualize yourself taking the steps that lead to that image and consider how that accomplishment will make you feel. Your subconscious will help you with the rest because what you focus on expands.

Workshop teacher Elizabeth Hildy spent a decade in sales and used vision boards successfully to drive motivation for cold calls. Now as an artist, Elizabeth uses vision boards to plan art projects and collections.

To prepare for the workshop, you should decide what your focus will be: 5 year plan, year plan, focused dream board for a specific area like health, career, or vacation? If you’ve never done anything like this before, you might consider reading Rachel Hollis’s latest book, Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals. At 240 pages, this quick and witty read gives you a structure for developing your vision. The workshop vision board would be the final step in your goal-setting process.

The workshop will provide magazines, books with visual images, and scissors. If you wish, you can bring photos, quotes, postcards, or other images or keywords that inspire you. If you are doing a focused dream board with one topic, please bring magazines specifically geared toward your target. For example, a vacation to a specific destination. The remainder will be clipped from magazines or books in the workshop.
