To kick off the Colorado Springs Philharmonic’s “Becoming Heroes” Festival (March 28-May 17), Downtown Partnership offers this special walking tour featuring lesser-known hometown heroes and their poignant stories of selflessness, service, and sacrifice.
Taking its cue from composer Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem and the work of WWI poet Wilfred Owen, the “Becoming Heroes” walk spotlights Colorado Springs luminaries and landmarks that stand against violence and injustice.
The presenting organizations would like to thank the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum for the educational research and resources that informed this tour.
