Climate change is one of the topics that makes people want to turn off and disengage. Campaigns for change have had marginal effect on our political leaders. It shouldn’t be that way. So what, if anything, can the arts do?
Environmental art has the power to change the way we view our world. Manitou Springs Art Council (MSAC) is inviting artists to use art in ways to encourage people to rethink their relationship with the Earth and the Environment.
Artists may showcase the innate beauty in nature or use art to make a statement with disturbing or controversial imagery.
Art can be used to make an emotional connection when artists offer new visions and choices for a balanced Earth. This does not have to be just a dark and sad story.
Artists are invited to share and envision concepts of positive actions and initiatives that can be created around the world, inspire the viewer as a consumer and citizen with the idea that they can make a difference and contribute to change through the choices they make.
This exhibition is being sponsored by the Manitou Springs Art Council (MSAC) and will be used as a fundraiser to continue support of the arts in Manitou Springs.
