Join us for Run to the Shrine, a race to benefit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Join us for Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s annual Run to the Shrine. The 4-mile route winds through the Zoo with giraffe, elephants, and lions along the way. Participants can run, walk or even crawl their way to new heights through this unique and picturesque climb to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun.
Enjoy the stunning views of Colorado Springs below while ascending nearly feet in elevation. This event is the only time foot traffic is allowed on the stunning road up to the Shrine.
The race is chip-timed, and it is a great route for competitive athletes, weekend warriors, casual walkers, and families of all ages. Jogging strollers with safety equipment are welcome!
Run to the Shrine race registration includes Zoo admission for the rest of the day (up to a $24 value per person!), a commemorative performance T-shirt featuring our animal mascot (for best size availability, register early) and a post-event party at the Zoo's Lodge at Moose Lake.
All proceeds help feed and care for Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's animals. Since the Zoo does not receive any tax support, community fundraisers like Run to the Shrine help to keep the zoo “running”.
Discounted early registration pricing starts January 30 and ends February 14. Registration is limited; register early to make sure you don’t miss out.
Early Bird Registration begins January 30.
