Pitch Your Book: Loglines, Synopses, and Queries that Hook & Hold

Pitch Your Book: Loglines, Synopses, and Queries that Hook & Hold

Presented by Pikes Peak Writers at PPLD: Library 21c

This half-day event will help you pitch your book to an agent, editor or future reader, with tools for perfecting your logline, synopsis, and query letter. If you are already working on these items, please bring them with you!

Author Chris Mandeville will help you hone your logline, the one-sentence description of your book that will hook agents as well as prospective readers.

Author David R. Slayton will teach you some techniques for taming the dreaded synopsis and making writing it more manageable.

Author and freelance editor James Persichetti will leverage his experience working for the Nelson Literary Agency to teach you how to write an effective, professional query letter.

This workshop will be divided into four sections of approximately 50 minutes each. After the three presenters have finished, attendees will divide up for the last hour to get additional help in whatever area they feel they need the most.

Please Note: Participants who do not register in advance cannot be guaranteed a seat.
