Artist Mauricio Ramirez (2019-2020 Art on the Streets Grand Prize Winner, “Fire in my Sol”) invites the public to grab a bottle of spray paint and join him in honoring the Conejos Neighborhood residents.
The Conejos Mural Project is a 320-foot mural and light installation – what will become the largest permanent public art project in the city – at the I-25/Colorado Avenue underpass between Downtown and the westside.
Using the stories and memories of former Conejos Neighborhood residents, the mural will represent not just a historic neighborhood, but a living community with a presence and a future in Colorado Springs.
Take a deeper dive: visit the Una Familia Grande exhibit honoring the Conejos Neighborhood. Located at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.
For these events, please meet at the I-25/Colorado Ave. underpass between Downtown and the westside.
