A juried exhibition featuring artists from the Pikes Peak region working across every size and medium within the theme of geometry and it’s application to the arts.
Cottonwood Center for the Arts is excited to present a juried exhibition, composed of artists from across the Pikes Peak region, working across every size and medium within the theme of geometry and it’s application to the arts.
Geometry is the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs. For most of history, geometry has been in dialogue with the visual arts.
The use of geometry allows artists to explore endless possibilities and complex relationships of what appear to be simple or elemental shapes, lines, and points. We have asked artists to consider the use of geometry in either an abstract or representational way, integrating this mathematical language to inform their work.
