The Art of Social Justice

The Art of Social Justice

Presented by Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region and Colorado Springs Black Business Network and Bee Vradenburg Foundation at Online/Virtual Space

To help kickoff Arts Month 2020, and acknowledge the elevated awareness and importance around topics of racial equity and social justice, the Cultural Office is pleased to collaborate with the Colorado Springs Black Business Network to present a virtual community conversation entitled “The Art of Social Justice” on Thursday, October 1st from 6-7:30PM. The session, which will be live streamed on social media, is free and open to the entire community–however, advance registration is requested below. This event is sponsored in part by the Bee Vradenburg Foundation.

The Art of Social Justice community conversation will be moderated by Rodney Gullatte, Founder of the Colorado Springs Black Business Network and President of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs, and will feature a distinguished panel of local artists and arts leaders: Ashley Cornelius, Tony Exum, Jr., Lynne Hastings, and Goddess Tyescha (biographies available at ArtsOctober.com). The conversation itself will focus on the contributions and impact of the arts on the current social justice situation. Panelists will offer their insight on how they view the arts as a mechanism for facilitating a positive community dialog. This conversation is only part of the strategy for the change that we need to see locally and across our nation. We appreciate you being part of the solution, and look forward to you joining us!
