2020 Pikes Peak Litter Letter Project-Dedication Event

2020 Pikes Peak Litter Letter Project-Dedication Event

Presented by Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region and Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance and Fountain Creek Watershed District at Berm off Cimarron Street, near I-25

In celebration of Arts Month 2020, the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance, Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control & Greenway District, Creek Week, and the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region have joined forces once again to orchestrate the 3rd annual Pikes Peak Litter Letter Project. Each year, our local Litter Letter Project produces a unique piece of sculptural art that is constructed with trash collected from public lands and waterways during Creek Week. On Friday, October 2nd at 4:30PM, just before the start of First Friday, there will be a public dedication for the 2020 art piece, entitled "RESILIENT". Community members and the local media are invited to attend. Please DOWNLOAD THE AREA MAP for parking directions. The event will feature remarks by:

Following the brief dedication event, everyone is invited to celebrate the start of Arts Month 2020 by participating in the October First Friday event from 5-8PM in Downtown Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs. The local community is also invited to support our Litter Letter Project though a special social media campaign on Instagram, by using the hashtag #PikesPeakLitterLetters to show us how you are staying RESILIENT during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Media inquiries and questions about the project should be directed to Andy Vick at andy@CulturalOffice.org.
