Prescriptive or Descriptive? The Roles and Rights of Women Seen Through Mid-20th Century Advertising

Prescriptive or Descriptive? The Roles and Rights of Women Seen Through Mid-20th Century Advertising

Presented by Pikes Peak Library District at Online/Virtual Space

Women’s rights remain relevant and timely in light of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and commemoration of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial.

Regional History and Genealogy invites you to join us for a free unique virtual panel with history and communication scholars Katherine Sturdevant, Stephen Collins, and Regina Lewis. Our panelists will share their interpretation and analyses of the messages, meanings, and influences of mid-20th-century advertising on American domestic and economic culture, as represented in national and local advertising.

Registration is free but required (please visit our website to register). A reminder with a link to join the program will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.
