Kreuser Gallery is proud to present, “Recollections and Souvenirs,” a photographic exhibition by Aaron Graves in the East Gallery for November 2020!
A gathering of modern works shot solely on antique and vintage cameras that are circa 1919-1965. Given the inherent differences in each of the cameras, the results are widely varied.
I decided to play up those results as symbols of memory, especially since these cameras were used to randomly document parts of my daily life over the course of 10 years (2010-2020.) Some images are sharp and direct, others are muted and dreamy, much like one’s memory can be.
This project turned into a unique and haunting glimpse into my life. I captured images of places and people that were familiar on my paths to work, home, or just wandering around.
Some of the places and people are still here, while others are not. It’s a rather personal collection of work, but one that I feel many people can connect with. I’m very much looking forward to sharing this work.
For In-Person First Friday, Kreuser Gallery will be open to the public from 5-9pm.
We will allow no more than 25 people in the building at one time and ask that you please wear a mask and socially distance per State Regulations.
