Festival of Lessons and Carols

Festival of Lessons and Carols

Presented by Colorado College at Online/Virtual Space

We invite you to join us for a contemplative and intimate Festival of Lessons and Carols. Gather in virtual community with Colorado College student soloists, readers, and guest musician John Redmon for a heartfelt and soulful as service as you take time to pause and rest, and are present with yourself and with God in this time of waiting, longing, and hope in the Christian tradition.

The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a candlelight service of readings interspersed with carols, hymns, and choral pieces that is modeled and structure after the traditional service at King’s College, Cambridge, England. The service has been happening at Colorado College for 59 years. This year the service is contemplative and simple. We are excited to both welcome and to be with you in this season of hope.

*After you register, watch your email on the morning of Festival of Lessons and Carols for a message that includes a program for the service. The service will also be included in a link on the day of should you somehow miss the email.

During the singing of “Silent Night” there will be an opportunity for you to creatively participate in the traditional candle lighting in a way that is safe and appropriate for you.  We encourage you to think about what might work best for you ahead of time. Ideas include:
