Join the Manitou Art Center for First Friday with the virtual solo show of Linda Laird and also discover a virtual show from Jim Marshall.
Statement from artist Linda Laird:
"I started sewing at the age of 12, and I haven't stopped yet. By education and trade I'm a theatrical costume designer, a milliner, and a backstage dresser.
I make art to tell stories and to delight the eye. I use fiber and fabrics because of their wonderful flexibility and infinite variety of color, pattern, and texture. In my work, I often include pieces of vintage linens and needlework. I like to pay tribute to the generations of anonymous women who didn't consider themselves artists, but used their spare moments to create beauty."
The Manitou Art Center also has a virtual tour of Jim Marshall's Show.
The MAC is closed to the public but open by appointment to tour the galleries and makerspace. Makerspace memberships are available from $50 per month for unlimited use of the MAC makerspace equipment, including printmaking, ceramics, paper making, design lab, wood-shop and metal-shop.
