Virtual Reading of 'Pipeline'

Virtual Reading of 'Pipeline'

Presented by Theatreworks and Ent Center for the Arts at Online/Virtual Space

Summary of March's Reading of Pipeline:

Nya, an inner-city public high school teacher, commits everything to her students. At the same time, she is desperate to give her only son Omari opportunities her students will never have. When a controversial incident at his upstate private school threatens him, Nya must confront her choices as a parent.

Dominique Morisseau is the author of The Detroit Project (A 3-Play Cycle) which includes: Skeleton CrewParadise Blue, and Detroit ’67. She is also the TONY nominated book writer on the Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, as well as being a 2018 MacArthur ‘Genius’ grant award winner.

Each of our readings features a full cast of actors, who gather to rehearse with a director for fifteen hours, and then share the story with our audience via a live streamed reading.

The readings are made possible through Theatre Authority; all artists are compensated for their participation. The readings are absolutely free; donations welcome.
