Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks. Although treatment can help manage symptoms in some people, currently there is no cure for this devastating disease.

Everyone involved with Angels Against Alzheimer’s has been impacted by this disease in some way. We have all lost loved ones, and it is extremely difficult to watch them suffer from this devastating disease, not remembering who they are, who their family is, or anything about the world surrounding them.

Caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s disease can be rewarding but exhausting to the family member providing the care. There are programs that give the caregiver some relief from the sometimes almost 24-hour that is needed. We want to make it possible for some of the local families that care for their loved ones to get an opportunity to have a break from caregiving.

We and our generous sponsors host an annual event in Colorado Springs, Masked Till Midnight, that raises money to help local families get the help they are needing and deserve. The money that we raise stays right here in our own community. This year, we will be donating to a local organization that focuses on memory care and helping those who are suffering from it, including families of loved ones.
