View this exhibit, which features money and medals to illustrate the development of the British Empire from its beginnings under Elizabeth I (1558-1603) to the present day.
Through the discovery of money, America's largest museum dedicated to numismatics brings culture to life. The museum explores art, history, science and much more to promote the diverse nature of money and related items.
Admission is FREE the first Friday of the month, starting at 4 p.m.!
The Money Museum includes exhibits in three main galleries, where visitors can find spectacular rarities and learn about the history of our nation and the world as seen through money.
Currently on display:
Money of Empire: Elizabeth to Elizabeth – The museum's rotating exhibit, laying out the history of the British Empire from Elizabeth I to present day.
Harry W. Bass Jr. Gallery – One of the most complete U.S. gold coin collections ever assembled.
The History of Money – Learn about the amazing evolution of currency, and how modern notions of money came to be.
See how coins were made from the early 1500s-1800s! There will be Mini-Mint demonstrations with a small early 19th century screw press that's operated by hand.
There will also be mini mint demonstrations!
