Victorian Silhouette Portraits Workshop

Victorian Silhouette Portraits Workshop

Presented by Old Colorado City Historical Society at Old Colorado City History Center

In America, Silhouettes were highly popular from about 1790 to 1840. They represented an inexpensive but effective alternative to the portrait miniature, and they could be created and prepared by a skilled specialist in a matter of minutes. With the invention of the camera, Silhouette portraitures became more and more obsolete.

The Old Colorado City Historical Society is offering this unique opportunity for interested individuals to come and learn more of the interesting history of the Silhouette, while creating their own to take home.

Reservations are required, as attendance is limited. Payment is required upon reservation.
