Sheep Shearing

Sheep Shearing

Presented by Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site

In the 1880's, El Paso County boasted the largest population of sheep in the state at 120,000 critters.

This produced about 560,000 pounds of fleece!

Watch as the sheep are sheared with traditional and modern equipment and see a demonstration of expert sheepdog handling.

There will be demonstrations from the Pikes Peak Weaver's Guild. Visit the general store to buy gifts made from our very own sheep!
