At Musical Theater Camp, students develop imagination, creativity, self-confidence, and an understanding of the relationship between their body, music and storytelling.
Ages 8-10:
At Musical Theater Camp for ages 8-10, students develop imagination, creativity, self-confidence, and an understanding of the relationship between their body, music and storytelling. Students will be engaged in a variety of age-appropriate acting games, vocal exercises, and musical theatre dance techniques. Through aspects of improv and teamwork, students will apply the skills they have learned to create a brief ‘scene into song’ showcase, to be presented on the final day of camp.
WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle and a snack.
AGES 11-13:
At Musical Theater Camp for ages 11-13, students will develop imagination, creativity, self-confidence, and an understanding of the relationship between their body, music and storytelling. Students will be engaged in a variety of age-appropriate acting games, vocal exercises, and musical theatre dance techniques. From lessons in vocal anatomy to deep dives into musical theatre history, students will get an in-depth look into all the thrilling pieces that go into creating a musical. Through aspects of improv and teamwork, students will apply the skills they have learned to create a brief ‘scene into song’ showcase, to be presented on the final day of camp.
WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle, a snack, ½” binder with paper, pencil & highlighter
AGES 14-18:
At Musical Theater Camp for ages 14-18, students will be immersed in the world of script analysis, vocal technique and musical theatre dance concepts. Through monologue and song study, students will develop individual skills in creating deeper characters that will really bring their performances to life. From lessons in vocal anatomy to deep dives into musical theatre history, students will leave with a deeper understanding of not only the functional performance aspects of musical theatre, but also with an understanding of where the genre has come from and where they can lead it in the future. In addition to individual work, students will work as a collective to build an ensemble that will present a brief “scene into song” showcase for the final day.
