Upper Elementary students celebrate Colorado Springs 150th birthday through activities and educational experiences.
2021 is Colorado Springs’ 150th birthday! Throughout the year, we invite History Detectives (Upper Elementary) to celebrate local history through fun and educational experiences. We’ll learn and explore through games, crafts, and history challenges. These programs are designed to help young learners explore concepts such as community, transportation, art, and even their own unique place in history.
There are two programs limited to 10 individuals each (adults and children included) to promote social distancing and create a personalized experience.
Explore how the “City of Sunshine” drew, and continues to draw, people from all over the country as a healthful resort town. Understand what Tuberculosis is, how it was treated, and why thousands of “seekers” came to Colorado Springs searching for a cure.
