Join us in an online conversation with the McAllister House that speaks to Henry McAllister and his strong commitment to the Union in the Civil War.
On a fateful Christmas day in 1862 near Nashville Tennessee, Henry McAllister made a decision that would affect the rest of his life. He chose to follow orders from General Rosencrans and march into battle at Stones River while the majority of the 15th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry chose not to obey these orders and laid down their arms, refusing to march into battle.
In this talk we will learn why McAllister made the decision that he did and how it demonstrated his full commitment to the Union cause, revealing this soldier’s strong sense of loyalty and bravery.
