'Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill'

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill shares one night at the end of Billie Holiday's career. Exploring her turbulent life, this country’s racial strife, and the power of a singular artistic voice, this play combines Holiday's life story with songs like "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," "God Bless the Child," and "Strange Fruit." Colorado Springs actor and singer Cheerish Martin will bring Billie Holliday to glorious life for three weekends only.

Directed by Lynne Hastings, “Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill” features Cheerish Martin as Billie Holliday and Earl Schaffer Jr. as Jimmy/Pianist.
