Opera Theatre presents 2021 Vocal Arts Week with two concerts; one virtual and one in-person August 15-22!
During the week of August 15-22, Opera Returns to Colorado Springs with an exciting Virtual Concert and an in-person Scenes Concert featuring scenes from opera and musical theater.
First, available August 15 - August 22, Opera Theatre presents renowned baritone, Brian Major in a special Virtual Concert streamed for Free on its website. Visit www.operatheatreoftherockies.org and click on the Play button to listen. Described as a “velvety voice” with a “commanding stage presence,” local audiences hailed Major’s dramatic portrayal of Amonasro, Aida’s father in Opera Theatre’s widely acclaimed 2018 production of Verdi’s iconic opera. This Concert is FREE, with Donations Suggested.
Secondly, Opera Theatre presents a fan favorite, “Let’s Make a Scene” Concert on Sunday, August 22 at 3 p.m. at Broadmoor Community Church (in the Glen.) Bring your own chair and enjoy 30 singers as they shine in scenes from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Verdi’s Il Trovatore, Ned Rorem’s Our Town and Mame and Hello Dolly both by Jerry Herman.
Note that there are No Public Restrooms available. Again, this Concert is Free, with donations suggested.
