Presented by Colorado College at Film Screening Room at Colorado College - Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center

Wesley Lowery covered law enforcement, justice and how they intersect with politics and policy for The Washington Post where he was a lead reporter on the paper’s Fatal Force project that tracked police shootings nationwide and won the Pulitzer Prize in 2016. He is currently a correspondent for 60 Minutes+ at CBS. His recent profiles of newsmakers for GQ magazine include Will Smith, Machine Gun Kelly, and Trevor Noah. Lowery is also a contributing editor for The Marshall Project.

Julian Rubinstein is an award-winning journalist and author of the book “The Holly: Five Bullets, One Gun, and the Struggle to Save an American Neighborhood.” He has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and Rolling Stone, among others. His documentary about Colorado anti-gang activist Terrance Roberts comes out soon.

The two journalists and authors who taught recent classes for the Colorado College Journalism Institute will discuss local and national media, and their approach to covering social justice movements, law enforcement and Black communities, and more, with a Q-and-A to follow.
