Interrupted Music Project

Presented by Colorado College Music Department at Colorado College: Packard Hall

The Interrupted Music Project rescheduled from January will be held in Packard Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26. The continuing project researching and presenting music by suppressed composers of the Holocaust is presented in partnership between the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and the Colorado College Department of Music.

A pre-concert lecture by CC Prof. Ofer Ben-Amots will begin in the hall at 6:40 p.m. Attendees should register in advance to secure their space in general admission seating at www.chamberorchestraofthesprings.org/interrupted-music-2022.html or by calling the CC Music office at 719-389-6042.

The program includes arrangements by Mark Arnest of works by Zikmund Schul, Dick Kattenburg and Hans Krása, as well as a performance of Krása’s Suite from Brundibar, a children's opera made famous by the children of Theresienstadt (Terezin) Concentration Camp. Closing the program is Paul Hermann’s Grand Duo for violin and cello, arranged for soloists and string orchestra by Thomas Wilson, Jacob Klock, violin, and Gerald Miller, cello.
