Artist Statement:

Our community has experienced so much loss the past few years.

There must be a place for all that to go- our soft, kind hearts can never carry it all alone.

After losing my father in 2019, I found reprieve in writing to and about him. There is safe keeping in Art. The Spirit Box collects letters to the dead. Simply a receptacle for love, loss, goodbyes, grief and gratitude. We welcome the public to drop their letters here whenever they feel it’s time.

Once the box has been filled with letters, they will remain unread by the living and get pulped down to turn into handmade Spirit Papers. The cycle continues.
