Indonesian Music and Dance

Presented by Colorado College Music Department at Colorado College: Packard Hall

The performance, under the direction of I Made Lasmawan and Ni Ketut Marni, is free and open to the public.

Gamelan is a traditional Indonesian instrumental ensemble that is made up primarily of percussion instruments. Lasmawan, a native of Bali, is an internationally acclaimed master drummer who has been providing instruction in both traditional and contemporary Indonesian music at CC for nearly 30 years. Marni, a renowned Balinese dancer and choreographer, has been teaching at CC for more than 20 years and her students regularly perform along with the instrumental ensemble.

The CC Department of Music suggests, but does not require, that attendees wear a KN95 or similar filtration mask. Visit CC’s Coronavirus Updates & Resources webpage for full information about CC’s Covid-19 policies.
