WMMI demonstrates their amazing outdoor machinery at this free outdoor family fun event!
Three times each summer, WMMI shares the full power of our Yellow Jacket Stamp Mill (one of only 5 operational Stamp Mills in the US). This is an incredible experience as the building rumbles to life and the massive stamps crush ore to find precious gold! Plus, see our hundred year old Osgood Steam Shovel, the same kind that built the Panama Canal and was featured in the famous children's book, "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel." We also operate an Air Trammer (think train) and more!
Family Days also feature Tractor-pulled Hay Rides, and see our Blacksmith Shop in action! It's fun to learn when the learning is fun--come see why we are the museum that works.
Bring a picnic, or purchase from our food vendors. Enjoy the Colorado Sunshine and support your local, non-profit history museum.
Free admission for all Outdoor Activities. Regular Admission applies for Inside the Museum.
