First Christian Church  is presenting the final program in their summer Music on the Labyrinth series, featuring the Academy Jazz Ensemble, a full-sized big band with a love for jazz.  The program will be held outdoors on the labyrinth on the south side of the church, but will move indoors for inclement weather. You may bring a blanket or chair, or just sit on the labyrinth wall.  A free will offering will be taken.

The Academy Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Brad Eastin, is a full sized big-band that performs and educates in the greater Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak Region and along the Colorado Front Range. The members are public school teachers, private instructors, and other musicians from the area. The ensemble performs in schools, at festivals, and for private events. Their mission is to educate the public about jazz music; to provide an outlet for school music programs where teachers and students can perform and explore jazz music at a professional level; and to continue the tradition of this uniquely American art form.
