See downtown through stories of celebration and protest, identity and belonging, entrepreneurship, and carrying on beloved traditions!
Every year, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) hosts the Gift of History - our largest fundraiser to support the Museum’s exhibits, educational programming and the preservation of our object and archival collection. This year, to kick off the Gift of History campaign CSPM is presenting a week of public programs to demonstrate how we fulfill our mission to build a lasting connection to the Pikes Peak region by preserving and sharing our cultural history.
From the colorful displays of Hispanic heritage at La Fiesta Bonita in Acacia Park, to the anti-Vietnam War peace vigils held in front of the U.S. Post Office, history is made downtown. On this walking tour guests will explore the meaning of downtown for previous generations and in their own lives, as they consider stories of celebration and protest, identity and belonging, entrepreneurship, and carrying on beloved traditions. While we invite everyone to participate, this program is designed for adults.
Join a knowledgeable guide from the Museum for this ¾ mile downtown stroll that starts at Josh and John's, 329 N. Tejon Street, and ends at Acacia Park, 115 E. Platte Ave.
$15
Pre-registration is required. One adult ticket includes downtown history stroll experience, Josh and John's ice cream scoop, and supporting the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.
