Drive-In Cinema is a summer film series hosted outdoors at the former Gazette Building, just east of Downtown.
Rocky Mountain Women's Film is celebrating our 35th year with a number of events throughout the month of August. Come join us at the old Gazette building for a film under the open sky. The parking lot opens at 7:45 p.m., when we will welcome you with free popcorn! We encourage attendees to tailgate and socialize before the film program begins at approximately 8:30 p.m. Get settled in your vehicle, turn the radio up, and enjoy a great film on a great big screen under the stars. Alternatively, and weather permitting, we will set up a speaker system for sound, so bring a camp chair and layers to enjoy the film al fresco.
This event is free and open to the public thanks to our sponsors, Maggie Turner of SpringsHomes and Marcy Langlois of Academy Mortgage.
Film Summary: 'Dear Mr. Brody'
When 21-year-old hippie-millionaire Michael Brody Jr. decided to give away his $25-million fortune to anyone in need, he ignited a psychedelic spiral of events. Instant celebrities, Brody and his wife Renee, were mobbed by the public, scrutinized by the press, and overwhelmed by the crush of personal letters responding to his extraordinary offer. Fifty years later, an enormous cache of these letters are discovered—unopened. In this riveting follow-up to 2016's 'Tower', award-winning director Keith Maitland reveals the incredible story of Michael Brody Jr.—and the countless struggling Americans who sought his help—to create a deeply moving meditation on desire, need, philanthropy, and love.
