Hear the Ben Hur story and learn how its legacy affects Colorado.
Here’s your chance to learn about one of the biggest blockbusters of them all: Ben Hur. Hosted by Ken Valles, this event will showyou what Lew Wallace started when he wrote the novel that was published in 1880. This commercial product (the novel) has led to more subsequent editions, plays, movies, references, and merchandise than nearly any other single item in America’s history. Hear and “see” why he refused to let it go to the theater for so long, what he is expressing through his book, and how it came about in the first place. The program includes a set of slides and a display of related items. Plus, you will hear how this phenomenon includes our state and region.
