Stroll the shady streets of the Ivywild neighborhood to visit six colorful, creative, and craft gardens tucked behind historic homes. Enjoy arts and gardening activities at each stop!
IGATE participants are encouraged to walk, although biking and driving are options. Start in the outdoor performance area at the Millibo Arts Theatre where you can acquire your wristband and a map of the garden locations for a $10 donation. Children are free with adults. While there, visit the Garden Art Mart for a selection of donated plants, art pieces and garden decor. All proceeds benefit the Ivywild Improvement Society's efforts to beautify the neighborhood.
Some gardens are geared toward fruit and vegetable production with food forest or urban farm themes. Others feature traditional flowerbeds. All are overflowing with art pieces, from bird house collections and creatively displayed found items, to tree faces and murals. Interspersed with the garden decor, you'll discover bee hives, chickens and goats. You might even spot a plein aire artiste at work! Family friendly garden and art activities planned at stops along the toure.
$10 donation for adults. Children free.
Acquire wristbands at the Millibo on the day of the event. This is where the tour will start.
