Ashley Andersen - 'view from my bed'

Andersen’s interdisciplinary practice is centered around conversations of the spiritual language of the ordinary. Her work sits at the intersection of domesticity and spirituality; often using various mediums to understand how the temporal nature of materials and constructed conditions can communicate something transcendent.

Ashley Andersen received her BA in Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs where she graduated magna cum laude in 2020. She has been awarded several prestigious fellowships and awards, most recently being named one of the top 100 Contemporary Artists in 2021 by Aesthetica Magazine. Recent and upcoming exhibitions include the WIRWIR in Berlin, CICA Museum of Contemporary Art in South Korea, York Gallery in the UK, East Window and Redline Contemporary in Denver, Kreuser and the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Colorado Springs, as well as The Museum of Art in Fort Collins. She has also been apart of several publications which include the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology, Shame Radiant with East Window, and Studio Project with Friend Of the Artist soon to be released. Recent residencies that have been Picture Berlin, Ox-Bo, and NAIR. Currently, she is based in Colorado.
