Historic walk in downtown Monument, Colorado.
Tour led by local historian, Jim Sawatzki.
Walk lasts approximately 1 hour.
We will rest afterwards to socialize at Lolley's Ice Cream - once a pony express stop.
Meet at the Limbach bandstand at 10:00 am in downtown Monument.
Monument was originally named Henry's Station in 1870, but after the Rio Grande railroad
was built in 1879, it was renamed Monument for the local rock formation.
Individual and Family Memberships to Historical Society are available.

The Palmer Lake Historical Society is a 501 C3 educational non-profit organization preserving the history
of the Palmer Divide which stretches from the U.S. Air Force Academy all the way to Palmer Lake and east
to the previous town of Table Rock which is now in the northern Black Forest area.
