Gardening in Colorado is a unique challenge. This class will give you the confidence to begin planning your garden before the last frost hits! Participants will learn how to read seed packets, the importance of plant spacing, where to source local seeds, and how to nurture their ecosystem with companion planting and mulch. Participants will learn to use the square-foot gardening method which maximizes limited growing space and will have time to practice planning with classmates and the instructor.
Instructor:
Tayler Jones was born and raised between Tava’s foothills in Colorado Springs, and the Great Plains of Calhan. She is a first-generation college graduate who earned her Bachelors in Environment and Sustainability at Western Colorado University. Tayler is a Certified Colorado Gardener and is passionate about seeds, soil, and food sovereignty. In 2022, Tayler served as SEE’s Garden Manager where she grew over 1,000 lbs. Of produce. She is excited to reconnect with her community and guide them on their growing journeys.
